     Rima de Vallbona ha recibido los siguientes premios y reconocimientos: Premio nacional de novela "Aquileo J. Echeverría" (1968) de Costa Rica. "Jorge Luis Borges" de cuento (1977) de Argentina. "Agripina Montes del Valle" de novela (1978) de Colombia. "Prof. Lilia Ramos" de poesía infantil (1978) de Uruguay. Premio Literario de SCOLAS (Southwest Conference of Latin American Studies, EE.UU.) de 1982. "Premio Ancora" por Las sombras que perseguimos, considerado "el mejor libro de ficción de 1984" en Costa Rica. Se le concedió la subvención "Constantine" de la Universidad de Santo Tomás para escribir su tesis doctoral en 1980. Además fue condecorada con la medalla del servicio civil por Su Majestad el Rey Juan Carlos de España por su labor cultural (1989). Recibió el "Willie Velázquez - TV Canal 48", galardón de excelencia por sus "sobresalientes servicios a la comunidad hispánica" (1991). También recibió el reconocimiento de excelencia como mujer hispánica, otorgado por la Organización de Líderes Hispánicas de Houston, "por contribuciones significativas a la Comunidad Hispánica" (1993). Se le otorgó el honor de ser iniciada en la "Galería de la Fama" (Hall of Fame) del Houston Hispanic Forum (1997) Fue elegida Miembro Correspondiente de la Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española (1997). “Mención Honorable” en el concurso de cuento de American Markets Newsletter (1999). El “Editor’s Choice Award” de International Library of Poetry, 2000. 2003 Prize in an Open Contest of BAWL (Bay Area Writers League).

    Rima de Vallbona has received literary prizes such as the "National Novel Prize" (1968) from Costa Rica, the "Jorge Luis Borges Short Story Prize" (1977) from Argentina, the "Agripina Montes del Valle Latin American Novel Prize" (1978) from Colombia,  the "Prof. Lilia Ramos Children's Poetry" (1978) from Uruguay, the 1982 SCOLAS Literary Prize, the "Ancora Award" for Las sombras que perseguimos, as the "best 1984 book in fiction" in Costa Rica and a Constantine Grant to write her dissertation (1980) “Editor’s Choice Award” including one of her poems in Poetry’s Elite: The Best Poets of 2000, book by The International Library Poetry. His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain awarded her with the Medal of Civil Service for her cultural work in the Hispanic World (1989). In January, 1991, she received the "Willie Velázquez - Channel 48, 1991 Excellence Award" for "Outstanding services to the Hispanic Community". Additionally, she received the "1993 Hispanic Women Hall Award" given  by the Houston Hispanic Women in Leadership Organization, "For significant contributions to the Hispanic Community." She was elected member of the Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española (since 1999). She received “Honorable Mention” in the Short Story Contest of American Markets Newsletter (1999), and the 2003 Prize in an Open Contest of B.A.W.L  (Bay Area Writers League).
